Walking with Dinosaurs (2013)
Walking with Dinosaurs is a fantasy film about Patchi, a pachyrhinosaurus and on his journey through life. The movie is nearly exclusively dinosaurs, nearly because the opening and ending has humans in the modern life as a sort of tie-in. Naturally, the movie lends itself heavily to computer animation and the quality isn't too bad. While there will be some scenes where it can look plasticky, on the while, it was decent. The story is average, as the film is aimed towards the general and younger audience, it is a growing up story with a set of morals to be told. Naturally, Patchi just happens to be the smallest of his litter, as well as a hole in his frill. We see him overcome odds, be the underdog and yet still be able to come out on top. The writers tried to inject humor through the narrator, who happens to be a bird. Unfortunately, around 50% of the jokes and gags are predictable and cliche, not to mention that the same gag is shown multiple times in the movie. It can also feel out of place at times. Otherwise, Walking with Dinosaurs manages to fill out its runtime quite well with content that doesn't fully bore you.
