JET MODE:
Stormshot transforms into a fighter jet with a very patriotic and heroic color scheme of white, blue and red.
The jet mode is great but this is mainly a byproduct of the simple transformation which is typical of a lot of jet Transformers, with most of the robot forming the undercarriage.
The robot shoulders stick out to the sides, they are molded to try and act like air intakes but are too far out to pass off. In terms of size, Stormshot is a Warrior classed figure which is roughly the same as Deluxe classed figures, above is a comparison against RiD Jazz.
While the two guns are normally attached under each wing, they can be combined and pegged underneath the nose. The handle of the gun acts as a landing gear (with even a wheel molded there).
This is a solid jet mode, only the robot shoulders being so visible is the major flaw.
TRANSFORMATION:
Converting Stormshot to robot mode is very simple. The only interesting thing is how the wings flip over and neatly tucks away with the cockpit onto the back of the robot. The back of the jet extending to become the legs is similar to the Combiner Wars series of figures.
ROBOT MODE:
Stormshot's robot is like your typical Autobot although there are a lot of cues from the Decepticon Seekers such as the wings behind his back and the general proportions.
This is a fairly clean robot with the major piece of kibble being the cockpit on his back, but it sits flush and doesn't get in the way.
The headsculpt is as per normal, fantastic. Unfortunately, if you look at it from behind it is completely hollow, which feels really cheap. It makes it feel like the head is a shell and not substantial at all.
Stormshot is your standard height. There's a lot of paint applications highlight various aspects of the robot, which is surprising.
Poseability is standard, just lacking in a waist joint.
His shoulders might seem awkward but they are situated far enough to not get caught in anything.
His weapons are the two guns, one is a shorter pistol and the other is a rifle.
Naturally, he can dual wield his weapons. On his chest is his sole Autobot insignia which can be scanned within the mobile game to temporary unlock the character for play.
Stormshot has large feet so posing him is easy.
His last gimmick involves combining the guns together.
When wielded, the combined gun is a bit long but it is nice the option is there.
A strong robot mode but at the same time, can feel a little bit generic.
OVERALL:
Stormshot is a strong toy, using simplicity to his advantage. He looks great in both modes and doesn't compromise much apart from the hollowed head. Grab him if you can.
