Happy Feet Two is a sequel following predominantly Mumble's son, Erik, although Mumble gets his fair share of screentime too. Happy Feet Two follows a similar story to the first one in that it shows Erik being different to the norm, and his journey to accept himself. The other plot point is that thanks to global warming, ice caps are melting and during one such event, it cuts off the entire colony of penguins away from the water, they are trapped with no way out and it is up to Mumble and Erik to save them. The story is predictable, from the troubled father-son relationship to Sven, the suspicious penguin who can fly, to the very end of the movie where you just know what they are going to do in order to free the penguins. Then there's the unusual addition of two krill, who only relate to the main cast through random encounters but they never speak to each other or make a significant contribution to the story. Sure, they are comedic relief and yes, they may have unknowingly helped a little bit at the climax, but they feel like they're outside the story. The pacing is better though, and the music too. Happy Feet Two is an okay movie but it can get boring during some scenes.
