9 is an animated movie set in a post-apocalyptic world, which is an interesting setting. 9 dives into scenes and ideas that are heavier than most animated movies. It was confusing in the beginning and there are some confusing concepts but it starts to become clear as the movie goes on and it is explained. The movie begins with a puppet-like being called 9 coming to life and as he explores the world he finds himself in. We eventually learn that humans are extinct and machines have taken over and there is a mysterious artifact which causes some unusual happenings. While there are still some unanswered questions by the end, the plot was really intriguing and keeps you hooked. This is interspersed by some great set pieces, including intense thriller-type chases and scary-ish monster designs. 9 is a worthwhile movie to watch with great animation, artistic direction and set pieces.
