Cinderella (2015)
Cinderella is a Disney film based on the fairy tale of the same name. Unlike the original animated movie, Cinderella is a live-action adaptation similar to Maleficent. Surprisingly, it manages to take the simple short story and stretch it out into 100 minutes to great success, there weren't many moments that screams that the writers were creating filler. The weakest aspect of the movie is how Cinderella presents itself, you can't tell whether to take it seriously or whether it is a lighthearted movie. One moment the gravity of the situation falls upon your shoulders whereas the next an absurd plot development happens. The stepmother's evilness and the reason behind it is weak and not very motivating. Apart from these though, the movie was fantastic as it tackles the classic glass shoe fitting, magic carriage and even the talking animals in a clever and believable way. Cinderella ends up as a likable character, even if how the movie explains her name was awkward and lame. This movie will restore faith in Disney's attempt to adapt many classic fairy tales into live-action films.
