Fire Emblem Fates Limited Edition

Fire Emblem Fates came in a Limited Edition which includes all three games (Birthright, Conquest and Revelations) on one game card and some extra goodies, all for not that much more than buying one game physically and the other two as DLC.

The packaging artwork is soooooo good, it's too bad that the Australian/European version is portrait which cuts off most of the artwork, rather than the landscape of the American version.

The Limited Edition contains:
- Limited Edition packaging
- Poster (double sided)
- Hardcover artbook
- Steelcase
- Game software (all three games in one card)
- 3DS theme (pre-order bonus)

Poster:

As you'd expect, the poster is folded out, therefore there are a lot of crease marks.  In the end, this is a big poster and has the amazing piece of artwork which looks amazing.

On the flip side, it is a map of where the game takes place.  A bit dull compared to the other side but it's making the most of the two sides...

Hardcover Artbook:

Finally!  A quality artbook, this is a proper hardcover and it feels good in your hands, rather than just a flimsy scrapbook.  It has a decent number of pages of artwork including character portraits, sketches and concept art, the paper is high quality and while the resolution of some of the pieces is lower than expected (there is pixilation), it's very nice.  Below is a small extract as a sample of what the artbook contains.

Steelcase:

As part of the contents, you also get a steelcase to hold your game card.  The front is the right side of the artwork, which is also the cover of the Birthright version of the game.

While the back has the artwork from the Conquest version of the game.

This is an empty case since there's only one game card.  It is appreciated though that they give you a normal case and a steelcase because a steelcase alone just does not feel right.

Game Software:

Of course, the main draw here is the actual game.  All three versions of Fire Emblem Fates will be reviewed in due time.  This version of the game contains a unique cover art.  Note that this is the only way to obtain the Revelations version of the game physically.

3DS Theme:

As a pre-order bonus you also get a theme for the 3DS homepage.  It is basically the artwork but it looks very nice.

Overall:

This Limited Edition is worth the money to obtain.  It contains some very nice items and having all three games in the one physical card is convenient and useful.  If you have the means to obtain this Limited Edition (not at scalper prices that is), then it is very much worthwhile to do so.
