The first movie wasn't spectacular but Highlander 2 topples that over and presents to you an incomprehensible mess. After MacLeod defeats the final Immortal in the previous film to become the only one left and grows old, how can they continue the story? By introducing more Immortals into the mix from another world, reviving an old friend and have them battle it all out again. Surprisingly, the movie takes place in the future of 2024, where the ozone layer was depleted and an artificial shield was put up. Now that the corporation managing the shield has turned corrupt and the ozone layer has naturally repaired itself, MacLeod ends up saving the world. The set pieces and fight sequences were ridiculous, especially with the speeding train stunt, and the various "futuristic" equipment. It is hard to stay engaged since the plot does not make much sense and it's just not interesting in the first place. It is best to avoid this movie even if it seems to pique your interest.
