Hummingbird (2013)

Hummingbird starts Jason Statham as Joey, an ex-Special Forces soldier who went AWOL and is now a homeless drunk in London.  He still had nightmares from his actions in Afghanistan.  Joey ends up breaking into an apartment and living there while the actual owner is away and starts to build up his life.  Taking on the job as a thug for a crime syndicate he earns a lot of money.  He also befriends the nun who runs the soup kitchen from when he was homeless.  Joey is portrayed as the anti-hero, and it is hard to determine whether he is a good or bad man.  He participates in crime but tries to compensate through donations.  The film only starts to find its feet during the last section, where the impact of his actions start to dawn on him, and the viewer.  It becomes a tragic and bittersweet story.  While Hummingbird's pace is too slow and the plot too bogged down by needless scenes, it ends up being an average story and has a good ending.
