Trollhunter
Trollhunter is a Norwegian found footage film, in which a trio of university students set out to film a suspected bear poacher. However, they eventually discover much more than expected, this "bear poacher", Hans, is in actuality a troll hunter. Trolls exist in Norway but it is kept under wraps but the Troll Security Service. They follow Hans and film trolls to prove their existence with the intention of releasing it to the public. Trollhunter's plot is interesting and engaging. It takes a while until you get to the point of seeing an actual troll but the lead up was fantastic, bringing together a nice blend of information and suspense. Once the group has encountered a few trolls though, the pacing stalls and it becomes harder to focus. It takes back your attention during the final climax but the ending felt abrupt and left a lot to be desired. The plot brings an interesting take on the behavior and traits of trolls. Trollhunter is a good movie, and while the found footage style of film making can be annoying, it wasn't intrusive here.
