The long delayed Jurassic World doesn't quite capture the magic and thrills of the original film but is a decent ride. Predominantly comprised of a new cast, there are a few returning faces. Jurassic World is a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, but as with all things with time, the novelty of these extinct animals coming back to life has started to dwindled and new ideas must be created in order to keep attracting more visitors. Someone had the great idea of mixing various animal genes together to create the ultimate dinosaur, something even scarier than the T-Rex. Naturally, the plot of the film dictates that this new dinosaur, the Idominus Rex, must escape and threaten the safety of everyone. It makes you consider the amount of damage this incident have caused to the theme park's reputation, especially with all the deaths, such that how they are able to even survive from now on. The film has a slow start as it introduces and shows the many facets of the theme park. Early on, it follows too many character threads, the one focusing on the children felt redundant, and their idiotic actions cliche. The ending is supposed to be a giant showdown but takes one step too far and becomes exaggerated. Overall, Jurassic World is a fun movie but has some noticeable flaws.
