Yogi Bear (2010)
Yogi Bear is based upon the animated television series and it takes an odd direction in that Yogi and Boo Boo (the two bears) are animated to be quite cartoony, but everything else is live-action. It's a weird mix and Yogi and Boo Boo stand out in every scene, and not necessarily in a good way. The plot is simple but it works for this kind of film. As expected, it's aimed squarely at younger audiences, with a lot of visual jokes and simple dialogue humor. Jellystone Park is about to be sold and trees to be logged to make money for the city. The Park Ranger must think up of a plan to save the park, and Yogi Bear participates in his own way. The short length keeps the plot moving forward, so there's really no scene that's dull to the point of looking away. That said, Yogi Bear is a simple film, and not especially clever but if you watch it with an open mindset expect a horrible film, you may be pleasantly surprised that it's not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.
