VEHICLE MODE:
Scrapper is sold as a Voyager, and in vehicle mode at least, he can look the part in terms of size, and he feels very solid in hand too.
The front scoop can lift up and down, which is slightly more play value than one would expect these days.
The thing with the Constructicons is that they can get away with barely any paint applications, as they are usually dominated by the green.
...but he does come with Devastator's gun, which is split into two parts, and they can also peg on the back for storage in vehicle mode.
A solid if unremarkable vehicle mode, Scrapper does nothing wrong, but he doesn't quite stand out either.
TRANSFORMATION:
For a combiner, as well as a Voyager classed figure, Scrapper has a very simple transformation. The back unfolds to form the legs, the front scoop folds back, and the arms fold from the sides. Flip the head out from the chest and you're done. You don't really need instructions for him.
ROBOT MODE:
Like vehicle mode, the robot mode is instantly recognizable, and a lot more colors come out now with the addition of silver and purple.
He has the scoop on his back, but it isn't as bad as it looks since the scoop is mostly hollow and very light.
The head sculpt is fantastic, and out of all the combiners, each of the individual Constructicons do have a little bit more personality and uniqueness.
Robot mode is where the size of Scrapper is more obvious, or rather, the lack of it. He's approximately the height of a Deluxe, not a Voyager. He is more solid and bigger than your typical Deluxe, but not quite to the point of justifying the Voyager price point. The addition of a ratcheted joint in his waist for combined mode was apparently the reason for the higher price point.
Articulation is good, with joints for his head, shoulders, elbows (!), hips, knees and ankles. Yes, due to combined mode, he doesn't have waist articulation.
He comes with three weapons, his black gun, as well as two purple guns, which are mainly for Devastator.
He can hold the various guns in his hand, but the black one suits him the best, as the purple ones are scaled too large for him.
You can combine the two purple guns into the bigger one meant for Devastator, but it still works here.
Unfortunately, there isn't an official way to store all the weapons in robot mode apart from holding him. That's quite disappointing given all he needed was some 5mm ports molded somewhere.
Apart from that, this is a wonderful robot mode and a big improvement over the Combiner Wars version.
OVERALL:
Scrapper is a solid figure. He may not fully justify the Voyager price point, but this is a well designed figure, and one that doesn't feel compromised at all for the combined mode.
