Lucy (2014)
Lucy revolves around the notion that humans use only approximately 10% of their brain capacity, and that if we could tap into the remaining unused portion, it would forever change everything. Therefore, the main character, Lucy, is tricked into having a synthetic substance absorbed into her body and she gradually unlocks more and more of her cerebral capacity. While it may start off grounded in reality, this is a science fiction film and the whole superhuman power as 100% of brain capacity is reached is intriguing and has a lot of potential. However, as the film goes on, it doesn't ever reach that potential and the powers gained might... not be what you would expecting. Something, through using up more and more of your brain, Lucy ends up gaining powers akin to a divine entity, from levitating people up in the air to dissipating and travelling through time. The film itself doesn't fully explain what happened at the end. Lucy is an average movie that keeps your attention but you'll find that you won't have any lingering thoughts on the concepts put forth and explored in the movie.
