Continental Drift is a much better film than you would expect. While it is nowhere near as good and original as the first, it's much more fun and interesting than The Meltdown and Dawn of the Dinosaurs. As the case with the other sequels, Continental Drift has an absurd plot and exaggerated set pieces. Thrown into the mix are the obligatory parenting moral, Scrat finding his acorn and a new character joining the herd who can be annoying at times. The plot involves the tectonic plates shifting causing Manny, Sid, Diego and Sid's Granny to drift off to see where they encounter pirates. Over the course of the movie, Manny will fight the pirates and return home. There are some good action scenes including when the pirates faces off against Manny, and the humor was much better done considering how much fatigue the series has.
