Ice Age has a brilliant opening scene starring a saber-toothed squirrel trying to store his acorn, which is equally hilarious and ingenious. The squirrel appears occasionally throughout the film and is like a mini subplot, stealing the show at times. The main plot involves the unlikely get together of a mammoth called Manny, sloth called Sid and a saber tooth called Diego who made it their mission to return a human baby back to his father. The film manages to pack in every scene something funny, keeping your attention. It does not relinquish its hold on you and the characters are charming. You will slowly warm up to the characters through their interactions with each other and the combination of modern day terms in gags worked really well.
