Title: The Wish List
Series: N/A
Author: Eoin Colfer
Read Before: yes
Comments: The Wish List has an original plot in which Meg Finn is killed but when the time comes to determine whether she goes to Heaven or Hell, she is exactly in the middle. As a result, she is sent back to Earth in order to help an elderly man, Lowrie, to complete his “Wish List” to get bonus good points, enough to send her to Heaven. Of course, it isn’t that easy and Meg herself is sarcastic and being right in the middle, of course she had done some bad things in her past. Lowrie isn’t too much better, being near the end of his time, he is nearly too negative and stubborn than Meg to handle. However, the chemistry between the two, and the eventual bond that they create, as well as Meg’s constantly funny sarcastic remarks, making The Wish List fun to read. It helps that the pacing is fast with barely any pages where it dragged on. The world of The Wish List has potential so it is too bad that there never was a sequel.
