Title: End Game
Series: Agent 21 - 6th and final book

Comments: Zak Darke, otherwise known as Agent 21, once again has a high stakes mission involving his arch nemesis Cruz. The plot doesn’t fluff around and starts out immediately with a bang. Zak is thrown headfirst without warning into another mess and this time, the stakes are personal. Culminating from the efforts of all the previous books, all the characters come together in this story, each playing a fairly significant role. The author doesn’t pull any punches and throws problem after problem to Zak, often with an equal amount of shock value to the reader. This story is as much about Zak finally resolving the grudge that Cruz has with him as it is about Zak growing up and accepting that his actions has consequences. The pacing is relentless and the way the writing sucks you in is how it often presents a hopeless situation, usually something to do with survival, and then what to do in those situations in order to survive. While it builds up to a final confrontation it doesn’t actually deliver too much and feels underwhelming in regards to the antagonists’ reasons. Furthermore, the way it ended also does not take into account the trouble that Zak had faced with the government. In the end though, this is an excellent finale to the series.
