VEHICLE MODE:
As part of the Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection subline of Legacy, Override is based on her Cybertron appearance, and thus transforms into a Cybertronian race car.
It's fairly faithful to her appearance in the cartoon, and instantly recognizable.
Unfortunately, there are several flaws, the main one being how gappy the vehicle mode is. At first glance it is fine, but you'd notice the front (aka where her robot legs end) does not actually attach to the back in one piece, there's a noticeable bit of nothing in between.
Furthermore, Transformers has continued to shrink in general (despite Hasbro making more and more profit...) and she's pretty much a Deluxe size in vehicle mode, especially when you compare it to older figures, it's quite disappointing to be honest. Above is a comparison against Voyager Siege Optimus and Deluxe TLK Bumblebee.
There are no gimmicks in this mode. She has transparent red plastic wheels that allows her to roll on a flat surface.
This is not a bad looking race car, the red and white works beautifully together. It's just that there are some flaws such as the gappy look towards the back and the small size for a Voyager that irks you.
TRANSFORMATION:
The transformation scheme is not as simple as you might expect. The front is easy enough, as it just splits into two and folds down to form the robot legs. The torso is more interesting, as it requires several twists and rotations to get it right. The rear wheels fold out to free up the arms, and then the middle of the car folds down to form the robot torso.
ROBOT MODE:
Robot mode is usually the focus of most Transformers and Override is no exception. She looks fantastic in this mode, with better proportions than the original, although still having some proportion issues.
Impressively, she has no kibble. This is probably because the compromise was in vehicle mode rather than robot mode.
The head sculpt is amazing. One good thing with the smaller size is that probably there was more budget allocated to paint, as she is well painted.
Even in robot mode, she's not as big or tall as what you'd expect of a Voyager. Above is a comparison against Siege Optimus and Siege Sideswipe. She lacks the bulk of a Voyager, but is definitely a bit bigger and more solid than a Deluxe (especially since she has no unsightly hollowness in the limbs).
Articulation is as good as you would expect, with joints for her head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees and ankles.
That said, her waist joint is blocked by the panel on her back, you don't get much range at all.
The engine block in vehicle mode separates and you can flip out both barrels to form her gun.
She can hold the gun in either hand and it looks great.
Alternatively, she has several 5mm ports, including one in her forearm, so you can have a forearm blaster instead.
The gun can fold back up and store in the same spot, which is on her back, if you don't want to use the gun.
Despite her lower mass and bulk, she feels solid and as mentioned earlier, she has none of that obvious hollow limbs that plagues nearly all Transformers these days.
All in all, a great robot mode.
OVERALL:
Override is a nice figure. Both her modes are pretty good, despite the vehicle being a bit gappy. She's also fairly small so she can be a tad bit overpriced. However, the paint job and build quality feels a step up (or at least better than average) than a lot of other figures.
