ALTERNATE MODE:

An updated version of the G1 character, Cosmos transforms into a flying saucer.  This is a rerelease of the Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection from the Legacy line a few years ago, but he was notoriously hard to find.

This feels like a retro flying saucer, as he is a lot blockier and not flat.  It still looks good though.

Given he's in such a compact alternate mode, he is smaller than other Deluxe figures.

The robot weapons can attach either to the back or on the side.

He rests on the table given that there are no wheels underneath.  It's a solid alternate mode though and having a near perfect smooth curved lower half is not easy to achieve.

TRANSFORMATION:

He's not too hard to transform, with the arms and parts of the legs formed from the lower half of the saucer mode.  While the torso is as you'd expect, most of the upper half.

ROBOT MODE:

For a robot that transformed into something with so many curves, and was so compact, the designers did a great job as making a stocky and blocky robot.

Cosmos only slightly falls apart from the back due to a few panels that remain the only kibble in robot mode.

The head sculpt is fine, albeit like the rest of the figure, somehow feels old-fashioned, like this really is a figure from the G1 days.

Despite the stocky look, he's actually quite small and short in robot mode.

He has joints for his head, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, hips and ankles.

He comes with two accessories, one is a gun, while the other is a checkered flag.

The gun is self-explanatory, he can hold it in either hand as a weapon.

While the checkered flag has a peg that allows it to attach to the gun to form a flag that Cosmos can hold himself.

It works surprisingly well, and funnily enough, the other side of the flag is an unpainted white.

Officially per the instructions, he can also hold the gun with the flag attached like this, but it looks ridiculous.

It can peg onto his back for storage though.

Despite how stocky he looks, and how he may look awkward in certain angles, his poses really well, and none of the pieces gets in the way of each other.

A strong robot mode and is a really nice update for the character.

OVERALL:

For such a good mold, it was a shame that the original was so limited in its release.  Thankfully, this rerelease in the Legacy United line is a good move.  Both modes are fun and looks great, especially the robot mode, and the flag is a nice fun touch.
