Turbo (2013)
Turbo is an animated film by DreamWorks Animation and like a lot of their films, it starts off okay before becoming quite implausible. In this case, Turbo is a snail who dreams of racing. Naturally, as a snail, he is naturally slow. While he has spent his life, and will spend his life for the foreseeable future, as a garden snail tending to the tomato plants, an accident happens where he gains the ability to go fast, like 200+ mph fast. This means that his dreams of being able to go onto the racetrack and win the Indy 500 might become dream. It is at this point that it throws all common sense out of the window and has Turbo meet characters who, however unlikely, manage to get him registered to race. Barring the fact that he is able to go that fast, the whole world seems to accept that he can participate and be able to be tracked despite being so small and having several unfair advantages (as well as disadvantages). The one-note villain does not help, and while it tries to bring in an underdog story and that your dreams can come true however unlikely, it has a terrible execution of it. There are some decent scenes but on the whole, the ridiculous scenario plagues your enjoyment of this film (like so many of DreamWorks' other films).
