Title: The Seven Crystal Balls

Comments: The Seven Crystal Balls starts off normal enough as Tintin slow gets sucked into another event. This time it is tinged with supernatural elements involving the mummy of a dead ancient Inca. This volume contains perhaps one of the freakiest scenes in the series and can send chills up your spine. Otherwise, Tintin flexes his detective muscles and manages to cleverly (but still relies on a lot of coincidences) identify the kidnappers. The most intriguing plot element is how the various people somehow fell into coma and the only evidence are shattered pieces of a crystal ball. The art remains fantastic and there is a lot of neat little background details that makes it really fun to find. The volume finishes up with a cliffhanger and is one of the rare volumes to have the story directly continue on in the next one, which means that the pacing felt a little bit dragged out towards the end.
