Captain Marvel (2019)
Strategically released between the third and fourth Avengers film, as well as right before Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel takes the step of introducing another superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She was briefly teased at the end of Infinity War and now we get to see her powers, how she got home and most importantly, why we have never seen her before until now. As far as Marvel origin movie goes, Captain Marvel doesn't do anything too different. It is as much a Nick Fury film as Captain Marvel though, and there are some really neat touches in how to ties to the overall universe. The humorous one-liners and random actions by characters are present and elevates the mood from getting too serious. However, the pacing at certain points of the film is off, and the flashbacks to eventually tell what happened to the heroine can be confusing at first. While we never got to see too much of Captain Marvel's powers and abilities until the very end, the potential leaves you satisfied and eager for more. Overall, Captain Marvel is another solid film in the franchise, and while it may lack the emotional punch as some other Marvel films, it is still a fantastic watch.
