Book Review: Flight 714 to Sydney
Review: #895
Title: Flight 714 to Sydney
Series: The Adventures of Tintin – 22nd book
Author: Herge
Comments: Flight 714 to Sydney starts off normally enough. Tintin and Captain Haddock are travelling to Sydney, Australia before they are sidetracked. They stumble into a kidnapping plot and end up stuck on an island. The story isn’t as fun or engaging as some previous entries but what makes this one different is the direction it takes towards the end. Supernatural and extraordinary explanations were already hinted upon in previous stories but it is more explicit here. This makes it intriguing except for the fact that it doesn’t elaborate or explore any of it. As a result, the story feels somewhat flat the whole way through.
