Winnie the Pooh (2011)
Winnie the Pooh is a film based on the book series and part of Disney's franchise. For viewers who have seen Winnie the Pooh cartoons or the previous films, then this is a nostalgic blast. Everything is kept intact from Pooh being a ditz to Eeyore's excessive negativity, it's all as you remember. That's not to say new viewers won't be entertained as while the plot is simple, the music, songs and subtle humor stands out. It is a traditionally animated film, which is a rarity nowadays and it looks fantastic. The combination of a normal cartoon with breaking the fourth wall as the story takes place within the imagination of a child, is a great mix. The plot, as per usual, has Pooh run out of honey and wanting to find more. Along the way, he discovers Eeyore's tail has gone missing and thus the whole cast then tries to find it. With a few misunderstandings along the way, this causes a natural flow of events that is more interesting that it has any right to be. The biggest negative though has to be the short length, it is approximately 50 minutes with 10 minutes of credits, thus, it feels like an extended cartoon episode than a film. All in all, Winnie the Pooh is a surprisingly good film that does not in any way feel outdated.
