Zombieland: Double Tap is a sequel to the original released around ten years ago. To do a sequel after this long, there is a huge risk that it will not be able to capture the same amount of charm and everything else that made the original enjoyable. Sadly, that is true here. Double Tap lacks the fresh ingenuity of the original, and instead focuses on a romantic plot front and foremost. As a result, it can feel predictable and tedious, however, it is punctuated with highlights such as the humor and odd characters that the cast meets. Set in the a post-apocalyptic world where zombies run amok, Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock are still together (basically as a family). Columbus and Witchita are in a romantic relationship while Tallahassee and Little Rock are more like father and daughter. Having grown up and in her rebellious phase, Little Rock ends up running away and the group tracks her down. We get to see how the post-apocalyptic world is right now (although with electricity and fresh water still running, it makes it feel a bit unrealistic) and various other survivors, something the first film didn't explore that thoroughly. The pacing is uneven though and there are stretches where nothing interesting happens. It leads to a predictable end but while it doesn't hold a candle to the original, it is passable.
