The third movie of Pokemon takes place during the third season of the anime, where Ash, Misty and Brock are in the Johto region. As a result, unlike the previous film, Gen 2 Pokemon heavily features here, and Gen 1 less so. This does give it more variety and more of its own identity. While the movie is still average, each Pokemon movie feels better than the last. The story has Ash travelling into the town of Greenview and of course, unusual events have occurred. These events involve Molly, a young girl whose father has just disappeared and coincidentally in her loneliness, meets the Unowns. The Unowns have incredible powers that makes her dreams come true, including summoning one of the legendary beast Entei. Things escalate from there and you do feel sorry for Molly due to her circumstances. While the movie tries to spice things up with plenty of Pokemon battles, they aren't that exciting to watch since the team ups finish way too quickly and without much strategy beyond calling out attacks, getting hit, and then being substituted. Team Rocket once again is one of the highlights with their heroic deeds. Overall, Pokemon 3: The Movie is an average movie that's most likely only enjoyed by fans of the anime.
