Pokemon: The Movie 2000 is the second theatrical Pokemon film. Focusing upon the legendary Pokemon Lugia, it is set during the arc in the anime where Ash, Misty and Tracey are in the Orange Islands. While Gen 2 Pokemon do feature in the film, disappointingly, there aren't that many of them (the most notable being Lugia, and Slowking). The plot is very simple, as one can expect, and it involves Ash and his friends accidentally stumbling into yet more trouble. The villain is trying to capture the three legendary birds Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno in order to force Lugia out. Ash is the chosen one destined to help resolve this catastrophe. The three legendary birds aren't portrayed in a very positive light, instead they're quick to anger and spends most of the film blindly attacking each other. The plot never develops much but while the pacing is still weak, it is much better than the first film. There's a few more action scenes but we never get a Pokemon battle involving Ash. Pokemon: The Movie 2000 is really one for the fans as it doesn't have much significance in furthering the direction of the anime.
